2月25日，英国中文学校联会在维多利亚博物馆举办文艺汇演，我校二个舞蹈节目再次演出。这次的演出的节目不仅内容好，服装也很漂亮。感谢参加演出的学生们，也要谢谢舞蹈老师们，和设计服装的家长。 |
25th Feb 2007: Students in our two dance classes have performed in the Culture performance competition of UK Chinese Schools in the V& A Museum on 25th Feb 2007, this performance competition was organised by UK Federation of Chinese School. Our students have done very well, thanks for the support from our parents and teachers. Although we have not won the prize, everyone enjoyed the day in the V&A Museum. |

17th Feb 2007: On the day of Chuxi (Chinese New Year Eve), the school held a Chinese New Year celebration in the hall of Acton High School. Mayor of Ealing –Madam Mayor Dian Pagan has attended this event. The programmes were excellent. After the performance, everyone enjoyed the Chinese lunch. Parents played a very important role in organise this event. We wished to thank the supports from local shops and businesses. Please click here for all the photos of the event. 14th Feb 2007: Principal of the school Jenny Huang attended the Chinese New Year celebration of Association of Promotion of Chinese Education in China Town. This year, the school has received sponsorship from MHL Chinese Education Trust. Jenny has been selected on behalf of all the schools those received the sponsorship to make a speech at the meeting, she expressed sincerely thanks to Association of Promotion of Chinese Education and MHL Chinese Education Trust. 近年来，中国政府把华文教育列入侨务工作的重要部分。2005 /2006年，国务院侨办邀请了全球各地区的中文学校校长回国访问，旨在推动海外华文教育，让我们进一步了解国情，了解国内的教育发展。校长黄珍理和其他十位校长在2006年12月10日到12月22日参加了英国中文学校校长访华的活动。参观期间，校长们受到国务院侨务办公室领导们的接见,受到了很大的鼓舞. 在山东, 校长们祭拜了孔府,孔庙,孔陵, 同时观摩了好几所小学，中学，大学的中文语言课程,取得了不少学习的材料. 这些对于推动我校的教学发展有很多帮助. 照片和详细情况请看以下连接。 |
10th -22nd Dec 2006: Jenny Huang and Weiping Yu were invited by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China to visit schools in China with eight other head teachers from Chinese Schools in the UK. In Beijing, they met the government officers in the Great People’s Hall. In Shan Dong, they visited the home of Confucius, the greatest Chinese sage. More importantly, they had visited a total of seven schools include primary & middle schools and universities in Beijing and Shanghai. They had observed the language teaching sessions and attended formal discussion with bilingual education experts. As well as receiving valuable teaching materials, they also learned a lot from this visit which they shall apply to further improve our school. |

18th Nov 2006: Two Dance classes have been set up. The dance classes are free for students after school. We like to thanks the parents for their support. This year, we received more than 30 applications for two classes. Now 20 students are selected to join the classes. They will be taught how to perform the Chinese traditional and contemporary dances by Teachers. Students will be performing at the Chinese New Year Celebration on 17th Feb 2007. |

22nd Oct 2006: Teachers have attended one day conference for the “UK Teacher’s Day”. Wendy Hoe – Teacher of the first class has been selected as outstanding teacher in 2006. The outstanding teacher for 2005 was WeiPing Yu. |

July 2006: Ealing Chinese School celebrates diversity in the community by
participating in the hugely popular Acton Carnival. The school was in the carnival parade with many parents
and students taking part. Leading the school procession was our own Lion
which was being animated by our own lion dance team. The school ran a "Chinese Quarter" marquee
that celebrated Chinese art, history, and culture. We also ran shows for the
public including Lion Dancing, Fan Dancing and martial arts demonstrations.
The Fan dancers closed the celebration performances for the carnival! Photos of the Carnival are found on Malek's

10 June 2006: Drawing / Photography Competition announced. To promote the knowledge of China, and to promote the
virtues of Chinese Art & Culture, the school is organising a
drawing/photography competition that is open to all parents and students of
the school, the theme is "Everything about China". For example, you could draw flowers, animals or any
famous architectural landmark from China; alternatively, you can choose to
use some photographs you have taken in China about the places you have been
visited. |

May 2006: Ealing Chinese School participated in the 4th Mandarin Reading
Contest, organised by the Association of Promotion of Chinese Education. Four
of our students attended the event and they were joined by competitors from
other Chinese and mainstream schools. We didn't win this year but we were
very proud of the contributions of our students. |

March 2006: As part of our drive to expand Chinese cultural programmes, the
school is arranging free tickets for all ECMS Students
only to the Royal Academy of Arts Three
Emperors exhibition. Students are
requested to approach any members of the school committee or their teacher if
they wish to receive their free tickets. Please note that tickets are limited and so we
request that you see your teacher or any member of the school committee as
soon as possible.

February 2006: Ealing Chinese School received 22 complimentary tickets
for the Matinee show of Banjamin Yeoh's show "Yellow Gentlemen". The school was
selected to receive tickets as part of its participation in the China in
London celebrations. About the show: The
show addresses the East Asian immigrant culture. In an unusual time warp, it
tells the story of Tommy Lee, from his migration to Britain in the 1950s to
the present, where he lies dying. It tackles the ideas of race and class on a
deeply personal level, as one man seeks to come to terms with his death and
fate. Duration: 1.5 hours with a
15 min interval. Language: The main
language of the show is in English. Where: Oval House Theatre
(see web site for more info) Details: The tickets are for the 2:30pm show on Sat. 25th February. For
students and teachers interested, please come to the school reception on
Saturday 25th and request them or alternatively, please email us ASAP stating how
many tickets you need and we will put them aside for you to pick up on Sat.

January 2006: Principal Huang and Teacher Zhang Di received a £450 cheque
from the Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education in recognition of
the schools efforts in this field. Principal Huang said "The funds from such
associations help us maintain the low costs that enable us to reach out to
the community at all levels". See the relevant news

Parents Meeting The Mayor of London has announced “China in London 2006”. This is a cultural programme in which a series of a major season of events and activities will be held that will celebrate Chinese arts and culture and the historic links between the capital and China. During the season all things Chinese will be promoted across the capital, with activities ranging from exhibitions to performance and film, window displays and food tasting, and the promotion of Chinese literature and language. As part of this programme, we are organising our Chinese New Year celebration event, therefore, you are kindly requested to attend a parents meeting, at the school, on Saturday 8th Oct 2005 between 10.15am and 11.15am. We would like to get your feedback on the schools celebration and discuss the upcoming celebration in February 2006. |

TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS In order to develop student’s learning interests on Chinese dancing and singing and allow them to participate in the local community’s cerebration events, we are going to organise Chinese dancing and singing classes. Time will be arranged after school between 12.30-1.30pm. If you are interested these activities, could you please contact your class teachers. We aim to start these lessons once we have enough interests from mid-May 2005. |

and received an award from the MHL Trust of Chinese Education. The School is
very pleased to be recognised by the association. |

2005年3月12日，北京大学文博学院讲师秦岭博士来到我们学校讲课，她给学生们介绍了中国考古学的发展和最新发现。她的讲课生动 有趣，运用了图片和照片，向大家展示中国考古方面的知识。有40 个学生和家长参加了这个课程。 学生们听得非常认真。 这次讲课丰富了我们学校的中国文化课程，大家对中国的历史也有了更多的了解。 |

Ealing Chinese School was very proud to host a delegation from the highly
respected School of Archaeology and Museology from
the Beijing University who presented a free lecture at the school premises.
Over 40 people attended the lecture which was presented by Dr Ling Qing in
both English and Chinese and used a series of presentations and Slides |

12 March 2005: Teacher Yu attended the "Mandarin Conference 2005", which is organised by UK Federation of Chinese Schools, and the Specialist Schools Trust and Special interest group of the Institute of Teaching and learning, there were 6 workshops, for this conference. Workshop 1: Issues influencing British born Chinese children's learning of Mandarin Chinese and strategies to improve their learning. Workshop 2: CD-ROM and Internet resources available for teachers of Mandarin Chinese Workshop 3: Introducing a scheme of work to bring Chinese Literature (in English) into the key stage 3 Curriculum Workshop 4: Developing writing skills Workshop 5: Materials swap shop Workshop 6: How to make materials for use with the interactive Whiteboard Teacher Yu has attended workshops 1, 2 and 4. She has brought all the conference papers to the school for our teacher’s training in the summer term. |

successful celebration which was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Ealing Council. The event demonstrations of
Chinese Kung Fu and Tai Chi as well as singing, dancing and readings by the
student. |

February 2005: Ling Robinson,
Chair of the school committee, Siew Ping and Chutima visited the Sure Start toddler group in Acton
Library. They explained the meaning and history behind Chinese New Year to
the children and parents. We handed out Red Packets to all the children and
wrote the children's names in Chinese calligraphy.
