This page is for anyone who is interested in joining the school. Please read this section before emailing the school for information

Q: What ages do you accept students
A: Our youngest class takes in 4 - 4½ year olds. We do not have an upper age for our students - please see the Classes page for more information about the different classes.

Q: What dialect do you teach?
A: We only teach Mandarin Chinese - both verbal and written forms are taught

Q: Where is the school?
A: The school runs out of Acton High School, Gunnersbury Lane, Acton, London W3 8EY. The closest tube is Acton Town station which is on the Piccadilly line - A map of the area can be found here

Q: Do you charge any fees for attending the school
A: Yes, the school is a voluntary one and we require fees to maintain the school and its services. The 2016/17 fees for the classes are £210 per year for junior and senior schools, £230 for GCSE and AS Level and £250 for adults.

Q: Can I come for a trial lesson?
A: Yes, and we welcome you to join us on any Saturday during term time for a trial lesson, please come to the school and ask for the Headmistress just before 10:00am and she will be happy to discuss the best classes for you or your children to attend.

Q: Do you teach Pin Yin?
A: Yes, we teach Pin Yin system to students from class J1. In other classes, Pinyin is used for the foundation of the pronunciation for all the new words.

Q: Can I use Mandarin Chinese in Hong Kong?
A: The main dialect in Hong Kong is Cantonese however, more and more people are learning Mandarin which is the official language of mainland China.

Q: What text books will I need?
A: You can buy the required text books at the school along with Chinese exercise books. Details on the course books currently being used are available here.
